Prior to the creation of Major League Soccer in the USA, Erik Sundsted's playing career at the semi-pro/minor league pro club levels inspired a successful transition into the broadcasting booth as a TV and radio announcer for Boston area USL Pro teams and the New England Revolution (MLS). More recently, he has continued his work as a color commentator, providing in depth game analyses on ESPN3, ACC Network, NESN, Stadium Network, America East Network, Patriot League Network, & COX Sports TV.
A native of Pittsford, NY, Erik won many championships as a player, received numerous accolades, and found success playing in the U.S. Olympic Development Program and Empire State Games. At Syracuse University, he won a Big East Conference Championship and holds 2 school scoring records after playing for some of the program’s all-time best nationally ranked teams.
His playing career continued with semi-pro/minor pro teams in Boston and Los Angeles, and he is honored to have been inducted into the NY State Section 5 and Pittsford, NY Athletic Halls of Fame in 2021.

As a coach, Erik completed his 15th season in 2024 as an assistant coach at Babson College in the Boston area. During his time with the program, the Beavers have claimed 8 NEWMAC Tournament Championships, 9 regular season titles and have made 12 NCAA Tournament appearances including 3 Sweet 16's and an Elite 8 Quarterfinal appearance in 2024.
